A large sommerso art glass vase manufactured by Seguso Vetri D'Arte and designed by Flavio Poli in the 1960's. Made with thick aquamarine and amber glass in sommerso; this combination and it's contrast is quite lovely.
Seguso Vetri d'Arte was founded in 1933 by several glass masters among Archimede, Ernesto and Alberto Seguso. In 1934 Flavio Poli became artistic director and in 1937 partner. In the 1950s and 60s these sommerso designs of Poli became very sucesssful. Poli retired from Seguso in 1963.

This item is over 60 years old and has a few signs of age, but there is absolutely no serious chips, cracks, staining, etc. There are a few superficial scratches to the base and manufacturing defects, such as the spot where they ground into the side at the base. Has a few tiny chips on the inside of the top rim.
